Thank you, again, for giving me something new and different to focus on as the new year approaches. Moisturizing is a wonderful idea, especially living in hills of Vermont, but 70 days before the election, when Ms Harris received the nomination and many of us received a small sense of hope, I began reciting my mantra whenever panic seeped into my being at the thought 'we' could lose. Then Hurricane Helene hit and four of my children and their families (and so many more beloveds) were without. That mantra kept the worst of my fears at bay, and then we did lose. So with a huge breath, I began reciting my mantra again and again - kind of a manic mantra! Because of your thought-filled post, I am intentionally choosing to be consistent about keeping my head and heart for as long as they can hold out and I can remember my mantra:

May we be safe.

May we be healthy.

May we be happy.

May we live in peace.

Patti, this is really perfect. We are all such strivers and “doers”; im going to inch towards more moisturizing as well. Let go of so much doing.

Thanks for all you do. I hope y’all are also inching your way towards pre hurricane normalcy. Debra/Atlanta

We truly are just inching toward that - the roof is still broken from the tree falling on it, and there's a huge stump in the yard, but little by little... And yes, letting go of so much doing is my new mantra.

Indeed! I have to stop myself from wanting to do everything at once, so I'm starting there.
